Although it was a little overwhelming at first, we were able to look past the old carpet, closed-in walls, brown original windows, wood paneling, and dusty curtains and see the potential in this space. Demo started on day one and we soon found ourselves standing in a completely different living room! See the living room update reveal here.
After
We refinished the wood floors hiding under the carpet, ripped out all of the wood paneling and skimcoated the walls, gave the ceiling a fresh coat of paint, knocked out the walls between the kitchen and living room, replaced the windows, painted, and topped it off with new decor and furniture. Sounds like a half-hour-long HGTV episode, but in reality it took quite a few months, as well as a re-do with decorating.
