Design

I am pleased to be able to offer design consultations, both virtually and in-home for Twin Cities residents!

My love for design started many years ago with our first home (lovingly termed Our Fifties Fixer Upper), which is what kicked off this website and my Instagram account. After many inquiries, I launched my own interior design business. I hung that up after a few years in order to focus on our own projects as well as my career as a nurse. After much consideration to my future & goals, I decided to pursue a career in real estate and transition away from healthcare entirely. I am happy to be able to combine my love for homes, caring for others, and interior design through being a real estate advisor and offering design consultations again.

What is a Design Consultation?

An interior design consultation is your perfect solution if you don’t need to hire someone for an entire project, but would like help getting started. We’ll walk (physically or virtually!) through your home – either room by room or concentrating on key areas of your choice. I’ll provide immediate, actionable recommendations to transform your space. Think of it as a strategic design workshop: you’ll get expert advice on layout, color schemes, furniture placement, and design potential. You’re encouraged to take notes to reference later!

In-person consultations last up to two hours. Virtual consultations last up to one hour. I am not able to offer additional sourcing or project management beyond the consultation, but you are welcome to book as many one-time consultations as you’d like!

We Can Discuss:

  • general paint colors and décor schemes
  • furniture, lighting, textiles, styling
  • space planning
  • current vs. desired décor styles
  • flooring, wall/window/ceiling treatments
  • organization and functionality of space
  • renovation ideas

and more!

Thinking about a new build?

If you are thinking about building a new home in the Twin Cities, I would love to assist. From finding the perfect lot to selecting the perfect design details to managing the transaction and getting you to move-in day, as a Realtor and designer I am able to assist you every step of the way.

Why work with a Realtor when you’re building?

  1. Market expertise and location guidance: Realtors can help identify promising areas for new construction based on neighborhood trends, school districts, and future development plans that might affect property values.
  2. Builder recommendations and vetting: Experienced realtors often have relationships with reputable builders and can help you avoid contractors with questionable track records.
  3. Negotiation support: Realtors can negotiate with builders on your behalf, potentially securing better pricing, premium lot selection, or upgraded features at no additional cost.
  4. Contract protection: New construction contracts are complex legal documents that heavily favor builders. Realtors can identify concerning clauses, ensure your interests are protected, and recommend appropriate contingencies.
  5. Timing and coordination expertise: Building a home involves numerous deadlines and decisions. Realtors can help manage this timeline and coordinate with lenders, inspectors, and other professionals.
  6. Builder warranty advocacy: If issues arise after completion, having a Realtor who knows the industry standards can help when addressing warranty claims with the builder.

Most importantly, builder’s sales representatives work for the builder, not for you. A Realtor represents your interests exclusively throughout the entire process.
